Body of Work
THE SUBJECT OBJECTS

March 2002
The Candlestick Maker, Chicago

Standing behind a glass canvas, a painter disappears as her painting appears. The model too is replaced by her image. What happens when the model rejects the pose?

What is the relationship between subject and object?

As part of our research for our upcoming show in the Netherlands, Wax and Wayne, we explore this tension by investigating the relationship between artist, model and the painting in between.
